Righteousness Exalts a Nation

Being a wisher would not just do anything. I was only wishing my country could become a better place until this scripture jumped at me. I sat myself down and I began to meditate on Righteousness.

What is Righteousness? Righteousness is the very nature of God whose Sons and Daughters we have become. Righteousness is a gift from God to any man who has come to know Him through Jesus Christ. Righteousness is having a right standing with God without any sense of shame, guilt, condemnation or inferiority complex. Righteousness is that which a believer has acquired from God free of charge just by believing in Jesus, our first born. It is a family thing. It's a family matter and everyone in the family is a partaker and should be a participant. It does not matter what the situation is, righteousness remains our nature and we are to give expression to it by standing for the truth, doing what is right and good.

We are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He who knew no sin was made sin for us, that we might be made righteous, God's Righteousness in Christ Jesus. Now, doing what is right and standing for the truth is no longer an issue with us, it is a responsibility that God has called us into, to obey and to do, fulfilling His purpose for our lives on earth. When we say we are the righteous, it should be that we are indeed on God's side, doing His work, minding His business.

Righteousness is Dominion. It's a force which every unbeliever should reckon with. So, when we know our stand in Christ and do as the Lord says to do in our various places of assignments, we are sure to be contributing our quota to the development of the nations. We are like the city that is set upon the hill that cannot be hid. So, let us do what is right and make room for others to see the way to follow.

Setting a path for others to follow was what Jesus did, He is our example. But in our small and little circles, where do we stand? Whose example are you? What can your colleagues say of you? Your children, what example are you to them? Are you representing God truly? Are you on the Lord's side bearing fruits of Righteousness?

Those hands of yours, what do you do with them? Those legs, where do you take them to? Those precious eyes, on whom are their gazes upon? Jesus? Or things that get you into sin, your old nature?
Who and what are your ears listening to? Are those songs, gists leading you to loving God the more? What is your profession? What are you saying with your mouth? Life or death?

God needs our hands, our mouths, our legs to reach out to people. We have been chosen by Him. Not we doing it but Him doing it through us. The more we put our trust in him with desires to bless lives, the more grace he gives to us to do his works as we ask Him, He empowers us by His Spirit.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach, sin brings shame to any people, but Righteousness exalts. We have been privileged by God to make our nations great. How? It is simply by acting out our righteous nature.

Righteousness exalts a nation. God is talking about us. He's saying to us to rise up to our duty and do what is right even when the situations seem tough. We must not deny God, we must not renounce Jesus. He remains our Lord and Saviour.

We have been wired for doing good and this is where the exaltation of our nation lies. Doing good, living right, getting souls saved, standing for the truth and justice, ensuing peace, loving our neighbours, giving to the needy, caring for the poor, clothing the naked, letting the oppressed go free, building homes for the homeless, loving our nation by graceful speaking and prayers, blessing lives everywhere we go, healing the sick, casting out demons, doing all in the name of Jesus, bringing glory to God.

These good works are the fruits of Righteousness. God's generous love to others both saved and unsaved through us. We extend the righteous nature of God to the world at large, our country, communities, organizations, companies, businesses, ministries, families, homes doing all not in the name of selves but in the name of Jesus.

Imagine if we all get busy, taking our places as the righteous sons and daughters of the Most High God, acting out our righteous nature, we bear more fruits of Righteousness, the gospel will reach every soul on earth, devil will have no place to dwell any longer, sin will no longer disgrace, Righteousness will exalt our nations, and Jesus will in no time appear in the sky to take us all home, our everlasting home. Bless you!

If you have not made Jesus Christ your Lord and saviour, then life here is anchorless and eternity is bleak. We urge you, don’t wait another moment. Make up your mind and say this prayer:

“Dear God, I ask you to forgive me all my sins and make me anew. I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised him up on the third day, I confess that He is Lord now and forever. I accept your son, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.”

Congratulations! Now that you are born again, look for a Bible believing church to attend that you might know what he has provided for you.
