The Word

Matthew 5:14-16

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Isaiah 60:1-3

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Psalm 18:28-39

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.   As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

To equip Christians to shine and keep shinning as light at the work place and in all areas of life by the strength that God provides.

Ø  The light

‘In him was life; and the life was the light of men.’ John 1:4

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.’ V9

Christ is the light, we are only reflectors of the light. The word of God reveals Christ to us and doing the word makes us reflect Christ to our world. The more we allow Christ, he more we will shine.

Ø  Strength of the spirit

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Isa 18:32

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. Isa 18:39

Success in the world for a Christian can only be gotten by the strength that God provides. This strength is generated in the place of prayer. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. James 5:16B (Amp)

Ø  Equipping

He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Isa 18:34. 

The Christian needs to be equipped and trained for the task ahead. God uses situations and circumstances to equip; Education both formal and informal are also necessary trainings; reading and attending seminars all make the Christian better able to shine the light for others to follow.       

Ø  Graceful labour

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Cor 15:10

Grace is not a license to laziness or an excuse for works of unrighteousness. Grace empowers to fruitful labour. Labour existed before the fall of Adam and is still relevant today. Burning the night candle and applying oneself to the work God has committed to your hand is a basic component for shining as light.

Ø  Online message

Once a week, a message is posted on the blogsite/website and duplicated on our twitter handle and Facebook page.

Ø  Outreach

Execute a project that will show God’s love to the people twice a year. Project ranges from visiting an orphanage to building a tuition-free community school as the Lord directs.

Ø  Ministrations / trainings/ teachings

Organize teachings on making impact as a Christian and accepting invitations to minister.
